I know for sure, and it's very clear, that I can connect to my shared server using ftp TLS explicit. And cpanel gives me a nice config file to use with filezilla. I know I must connect using my cpanel username and password, not as a "normal" ftp user. But this is all I get for ftp tls explicit (the way I connect to other cpanel based hosts)

About a week ago now, I have requested to have my Linux shared hosting package cancelled and haven't heard anything since. I've even put in a follow up with one of the support people on the Live Chat system about two days ago and still haven't heard anything back. (I needed MS SQL Server support and ASP support so I had to switch to a Windows Hosting package,)
I do not understand why I don't even get any type of feedback or acknowledgement of my request except for a thing in the Billing system stating that this was requested, but that was about a week ago, and still no update as of today.
So I have not left HostGator... yet, although I may if this is not resolved soon.

I have been studying my HostGator logs from the past few years, and I am noticing that the majority of my troublemakers come from a certain few countries.
Rather than continuing to block IPs or CIDRs, I am coming to the conclusion that it would be easier to just ban a few countries and be done with it.
There are many sites that will give me CIDRs for entire countries, but these lists are
huge. This doesn’t seem to be a practical solution on shared hosting.
I found the following plugin which seems like a good idea:

It would make blocking by country a lot simpler and keep .htaccess files a lot smaller.
I can do something similar in PHP before I send any headers, but this seems like it might be a better solution (if I could get HG to install it).
I understand I can do this through CloudFlare, but I don’t want to sign up with CloudFlare solely to block countries.
I am open to suggestions on better methods to accomplish this task. Does anyone have suggestions?
