Does deleting Addon Domain delete server files?

I'm needing to change the Username of one of my Addon Domains, the only way I see to do that is remove it and recreate it. If I did this will it remove the addon directory files on the server, or does it leave them untouched and if I delete the Addon and add it right back with the new Username all is good?
