I requested a module to be installed called reqtimeout. It can be used to reduce DOS attacks apparently. I spoke to a chat operator and asked for to be installed. They said it had been installed and I left to see if I could get it working.
I tried out some of the commands in the htaccess file but they would not work. I then spoke to another chat operator and he said that modules are not allowed to be installed on shared accounts.
Surely this module should be installed for all shared accounts as it could potentially reduce vulnerabilities on websites?
I know mine has been hit with several slow DOS attacks in the past.
Some of the tips on this guide look useful and I hope to get them working.
My questions are: Has this module really been installed and can I request modules to be installed in the future?
