Hostgator backup

Hello, I've been told Hostgator does a weekly backup on
Sunday nights. If your account happens to have a problem,
say with missing folders in your Horde mail client, would
requesting that your account not be backed up till the
problem is resolved, be a good idea? I'm wondering if
a backup, performed while there is a problem with the
account, would make the problem permanent.
