This is absolutely outrageous - we've had four hours of downtime this morning. Our business along with other websites on our account rely on these websites and HostGator don't make any effort in either informing their customers of the problem or what they are doing to resolve the problem without persistence in me asking them. I've spent about one hour of my time trying to resolve this problem, submitted a ticket and going on to live chat twice.
What makes me even more angry is that they apparently only started working on the problem when I asked what the problem is. Is there no system admins who can detect a problem on the server? I was told the server load was too high...why does that take four hours to resolve? Why should we be impacted when we have only 6 processors running at the moment, 0.1% CPU usage and 0% memory usage?
And it's a big shame I've paid for three years of hosting and we transferred only last June, expecting better uptime than our old host. In fact, I've just looked at my account with 'Watchmouse' and since June, our account uptime has been 99.53% - now that is not close to the guaranteed 99.9% uptime. This isn't just causing a loss in sales this morning but it's also caused negative Search Engine rankings as Google and other search engines cannot pick up our site, along with our clients on our server and in some cases will remove us completely from the search engine results.
And before anyone says did I change everything, the answer is no. The problems occur funnily enough usually when I'm either asleep or out of the office.
Why also is nothing posted on the Network Status part of the forum detailing what the problem is with the server Im on gator1093? Why arent customers emailed there is a problem with the server? Im sure most of your other customers have small websites and havent noticed the downtime, but every hour the website is down for us and our clients are critical.
I would like somebody to contact me regarding this with a resolution to this poor 96% uptime for this week.
