need a joomla form secured with ssl on shared hosting

I have been told by support ticket number GHN-16475488
That ....

"Unfortunately you are unable to do SSL on one page of your site. SSL is either on the whole site, or nothing"

But I don't want the whole site in SSL ... just the one Joomla form I want to have users submit via SSL....

I thought I had the answer with .httaccess but it does not seem to work.

RewriteCond %{HTTPS} off
RewriteRule ^(job)(.*)/?$ https://%{HTTP_HOST}%{REQUEST_URI} [R=301,NC,L]

Has anyone got a clue on how I can just lock down this one page.

I have enabled the SSL option on the one page in joomla.

Running Joomla 1.7.2
