need instructions to transfer domain from HG

There really should be a separate forum for domain questions, but this will have to do. I need to find complete, detailed instructions on how to transfer a domain name from hostgator. The hostgator "domain" pages, which are really on registryrocket.com, have absolutely nothing (at least that could be found) on this procedure. (Frankly, that doesn't look good - like they are afraid to let people know they have a choice - and that is enough reason by itself to go elsewhere)

I'm not looking for generic instructions that can be found on the web - I need to know exactly where and how to take the various steps to transfer my domain name that are specifically for names currently registered at hostgator/registryrocket.
