running a python script

so, I'm just trying to get the basic python test script to work. I was reading some threads and it said the file could be in any directory.

How do I run it? when I just go to the direct link in my browser it doesn't run, it just shows up as text? I have used google appspot before and on there I have to change a seperate file to determine which files are what type of file and how to execute them (the .yaml file).

The file permissions are set to 755.
